Project
Pension System Automation

The City of Newark has a small pension system (ERS) that contains about 40 active members and about 150 pensioners. The files and recordkeeping for this system is primarily manual. We would like a database established that would assist in managing pension system by automating most of filing and activities. For example, a database of all pensioners needs to be established that contains information necessary for actuarial valuations.

 E-Vacations Rentals Commercial Website

This project requires the design and development of an e-commerce website that will function as a referral network for the vacation rental market. The site will allow users (owners of vacation rental properties) to join the site and list one or more properties that they have available for short-term rental. Other users (prospective renters) will be able to search the database of these homes based on customizable search criteria.

It was a pleasure to work with the members of this team. They were very open to suggestions and even came up with and implemented ideas of their own that were of benefit to the project. Overall, given the amount of work they had, they did an outstanding job!

Database Evaluation

We need to evaluate current Outlet Tool to determine the most efficient software platform and work process or delivery mechanism for this tool. We may want to improve current tool or redesign based on Njit recommendations. We will probably expand project to two semesters if needed.
