Dear Capstone Sponsors, Partners and Supporters,

Welcome to the "CCS Capstone Program" at NJIT! If you are new to our program, please visit our websites at: www.capstoneprogram.com  and www.capstoneshowcase.com ! Please read sections A, B, C and D carefully.

A- Once again, it is my pleasure to invite you to submit a new capstone project proposal for the Spring 2008 semester. Our deadline for project proposals for Spring 2008 is Monday Jan 7th, 2008 (the earlier the better). After this deadline, we may not accept any more project proposals for Spring 2008. If you have already submitted your proposal online, please go directly to sections B, C and D below.

Whether you have a software/web development project or an engineering, business, science, math or architecture project, we welcome all proposals through our regular capstone program and our university-wide project course! Even though our program is very popular in IT projects, we are a truly multidisciplinary program that can recruit students from all five university colleges (and even bring exceptional talents from high school to PhD).

To submit your project proposal, you must complete our sponsor proposal form online by the above deadline at the following link:

http://fs11.formsite.com/caspstone/form190789612/index.html?212360174

B- We must also receive the attached Sponsors Acknowledgment agreement (click on this link) completed and signed by your organization at my NJIT's mailing address by Monday Jan 7th, 2008. We may not consider any proposals without this form.

C- Once your proposal is submitted online, it will be reviewed by our alumni and industry advisory board. We use a scoring method to evaluate all submitted proposals and in many cases we conduct phone and F-T-F interviews. Some of the criteria that is often used to evaluate projects proposals include: educational value of the project, degree of sponsor's support to students career and education, clarity of project idea and requirements, availability of resources and stakeholders support, feasibility of the project within the semester timeframe and relationship history with the capstone program.

Each semester, we receive numerous projects proposals and we accept only a very limited number. If your project was approved by our panel, you will receive an invitation to our mandatory Sponsors Showcase meeting with all students that will take place on Wednesday Feb 6th , 2008 from 2:30-5:30PM (Campus Center Atrium). This meeting will also help finalize projects selections by all teams and allow sponsors to find the best match for their project requirements.

D- Our current sponsor support program minimum contribution requirement is $500 per project per team per semester.

Sponsored projects internal to NJIT for NJIT departments should contact the instructor.

Minimum contribution checks must be made no later than Feb 13th, 2008 deadline and paid to the “Capstone Program” account at NJIT ( In the memo: Account # 889141 ) as a Sponsor Support Program Gift with a letter of support clearly indicating the purpose of these contributions in support of the capstone program budget items and students needs (including capstone supported or extended programs) . Please find full payment instructions attached to this email or just click on this link. Unfortunately, if your contribution was not received by the deadline, your project may be cancelled and replaced (as part of the scoring process in evaluating proposals).

If you wish to submit a project proposal for the summer 2008 (semesters 1&2), please be advised that our deadline for summer projects proposals is Friday May 9th, 2008.

Important Note about NDA's:

All our students are required to sign our NJIT provided stduents NDA (click the link to download it). This protects the rights of all parties and usually does not require the stduents to sign any sponsor-provided NDA's. If the sponsor required their own NDA in addition, it must be reviewed and approved by our legal advisors at NJIT before the stduents can sign it.

We look forward to receiving your proposals ASAP and start working on your projects very shortly!

Thank you.

Happy Holidays and warm regards!
