More about "The Capstone Entrepreneurship track "

The Capstone Entrepreneurship track provides college students with hands-on entrepreneurial and business training, through starting an actual company. During the course, students develop their company’s vision and mission, create departments, formulate business plans, sell stocks, produce products or offer services, market them, distribute profits and liquidate the company. Throughout this process, students learn to appreciate the important role of business and entrepreneurship in the Jordanian economy. Working with qualified business sector volunteers who guide their company experience, students also develop an understanding of the economic principles that influence business decisions, while acquiring workforce-readiness skills. After creating their own companies, student groups enter a three-stage competition: the Company Report, the Trade Fair, and the Final Screening. A screening committee of key private sector figures will be involved in all three stages of the competition to select the winning team, which will be granted an award chosen by the sponsoring company.

Through sponsorship of the Capstone Entrepreneurship track , companies will have a direct impact on the quality of education in US colleges. The face-to face interaction between the company and the students over the 12-week course period also serves as an ongoing interview, enabling the company to identify distinguished students as potential employees. Moreover, sponsoring companies can explore and test new ideas conceived by students at no risk-- ideas that can be turned into ventures if they prove financially viable. Additional sponsorship benefits include a press release about the company in the local newspapers, the use of company stationary during the course, and featuring the company’s promotional materials in their booth during the Trade Fair.

Capstone Entrepreneurship track sponsorship covers the cost of curriculum delivery and arabization of supporting documents; implementation (e.g. running costs, transportation, monitoring and evaluation, feedback meetings); orientation training in different governorates (for volunteers, companies/sponsors, and universities/students); the trade fair; and the final screening ceremony for the award. The award cost will be covered by the company sponsoring the winning team/project.
