High school programs, middle school program, adopt a school   (satellite location) and community college program.

In the academic year of 2007-2008, the Capstone Open University program plan to deliver four real world projects courses for high school students in three locations, one course for middle school students and one course for community college students all of which encourage a learning by doing that fosters team work, creative thinking, real world problem solving and interpersonal communication.

These courses include but not limited to the following topics: Project Management , Business Economics , requirements analysis, Enterprise in Action , Success Skills, Leadership, Business Ethics, system design, Web development and Quality assurance (some courses are provided in both schools and universities).
Supporting our existing curricula, or the development of specially tailored curricula, gives the private sector an opportunity to play a direct role in providing students with quality educational content that caters to their and the market’s needs, and enhances their future work opportunities and choices.

Sponsorship of new curricula covers the cost of curricula development, editing, design and printing, kits Assembly, implementation in 3 pilot schools over a period of one year, transportation, train the trainer orientation, monitoring and evaluation and marketing materials.

The High School Adoption Program (Satellite Locations)

We are launching a new adoption program across the state of NJ that aims to allow the industry to have a direct impact on the quality of education in NJ public high schools and to play a vital role in improving the schools learning environment using real world project-based methods. During the program, industry volunteers from the adopting company (subject matter experts) come into the classroom to serve as positive role models and to deliver a unique curriculum designed to introduce basic business and IT concepts, while enhancing the students’ leadership, problem-solving, communication and creative thinking skills using real world projects.

Through adopting one or more public high schools, the company gains first hand knowledge of the educational sector’s needs. It also develops a positive reputation among the schools and the community as a whole. In addition, the company’s volunteers acquire better communication and presentation skills, while developing more loyalty to the company (which reduces employee turnover). Additional sponsorship benefits include a press release about the company in the local newspapers; mention of the company’s name on the capstone website and other capstone publications; inclusion of the company name in an appreciation advertisement in the local newspaper; participation in the graduation ceremony for the adopted school(s) and in the graduation events.

Please note that an administration cost will be added to schools adopted in new areas not currently covered by capstone.
